The BES-4 assists school personnel in making decisions about eligibility, placement, and programming for students with behavior problems who have been referred for evaluation. It yields relevant behavioral information about students regardless of disabilities, and therefore may be used with students who have learning disabilities, mental retardation, physical impairments, and other disabilities. It was developed to specifically document those behaviors most indicative of serious emotional disturbance and the behavior problems which exceed the norm of any student in the school environment. The kit includes both the School and the Home evaluations. The Intervention Manual includes a compilation of goals, objectives, and intervention strategies plus sample forms.
